A Jack of all trades, and a master of every single one.
McMullen & Wing is an advanced composite builder, an aluminium yacht builder and a steel ship builder, all wrapped into one.
Our craftsmen are exceptional, our facilities first rate; but it is our culture which pushes us to strive constantly for perfection. Ever questioning, changing, developing, improving, the quest for perfection never ends. It is that quest which gives us energy and motivates us afresh for each new yacht project: the opportunity to make each yacht even better than the last.
For a builder, perfection is more often found in the small things than the large. It is in the details that you will find the hallmark of the craftsman: the subtle relationships between elements, a seamlessly assembled cabinet, the careful selection of natural materials.
We build yachts to be used, enjoyed, loved. Tied to the dock they can be admired, but at sea they come to life, stretch and dance.
Business & Pleasure
Auckland, the ‘City of Sails’ is a buzzing cosmopolitan metropolis. Surrounded by the ocean, boating is in the blood of Aucklanders from all walks of life. Auckland is not just a great place to live, it has become one of the world’s favourite visitor cities, nestled amongst 48 volcanic cones, fringed by a rainforest and surrounded by magnificent harbours. Escaping the city you will explore the wide open spaces of the North Island’s richly productive countryside. Wander ancient forests, magical glow-worm caves, or visit the world famous movie settlement of Hobbiton. The geothermal region of Rotorua, sacred to Maori, is a natural wonderland of boiling, bubbling mud pools; the stunning geyser activity there has been thousands of years in the making.
New Zealand’s South Island is another world again. A land of spectacular contrasts: warm, sun-soaked vineyards and beaches in the north and muscular alpine ranges in the south. Try heli-skiing on an untracked slope of powder snow, visit an icy glacier slowly inching its way to the sea, challenge your nerves jet boating or white water rafting on the Shotover River, or float in the quiet eeriness over the top of the majestic Southern Alps in a hot air balloon.
